Sectors in which we work

Our experience and expertise allow us to tackle complex projects while delivering exceptional results.

Experience with the transformation of useful raw materials derived from oil and gas. The processes for obtaining petrochemical products are carried out in refineries and involve physical and chemical changes of hydrocarbons through a process calledcracking.

Specialized fire safety consulting, code compliance inspection and auditing as applicable, and fire risk assessment (FRA) using the QRA method.

Management of energy projects; energy production with conventional and natural gas systems, as well as cogeneration systems (CHP) and special equipment based on natural gas and LPG.

Energy efficiency management through the conversion of special equipment such as boilers and furnaces from diesel and LPG to natural gas.

Understanding how the industrial sector works and the relationship it has with other major sectors helps to better understand how its work supports the overall economy.

SEICO offers a wide range of consulting services in this area, including the beverage and food industry.

The tertiary or service sector includes activities that generate intangible benefits, such as tourism, health and security of buildings with high capacity. We offer a wide range of consulting services that complement the security and reliability of these spaces.

Our Projects

Project portfolio

SEICO is currently consulting on different projects in the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, the Caribbean region and South America.

testing & Commissioning

Equipment testing, commissioning and operational integration, both in the factory and on site, are crucial phases of the process to ensure that all components and systems are installed, tested and functioning according to the design requirement. When these stages are performed correctly, the integrity and intended purpose of the facility is achieved. An experienced, multidisciplinary team is vital to achieving this goal.

Pipelines & stations

The metering and regulating station, at the starting point or at the end of the line, as well as the shut-off valves (BVS/ESDV); constitute the essential safety equipment of a gas pipeline. In order to achieve the correct operation of the equipment; the inspection, testing and maintenance program is essential to achieve its proper functioning. Correct operation, personnel qualification and continuous training are vital for the safety and operational reliability of the equipment.

LNG PLANTS & special equipment

The natural gas (LNG/NG) industry is very reliable, environmentally friendly and has a very high safety record. With over 60 years of commercial operation, the top priority has always been the safety of the public. This has been reflected in the technology's enviable HSE record, with almost zero recordable incidents worldwide. The use of natural gas has experienced an upward escalation especially in the last 30 years; becoming a mainstay of the global economy.

fire protection

The main objective of fire protection is the preservation of lives, property and the continuity of the organization's mission.

The philosophy of fire protection focuses on having an arrangement with the ability to detect, notify and alarm (F&G and Detection System); to alert to an existing hazardous condition; as well as the appropriate means of suppression, the use of passive protection and the use of limited combustion materials.

The earlier a fire is detected, the faster the protective elements can be brought together to mitigate its effects. When it comes to fire safety, don't take shortcuts.

Energy & Control

High integrity power, control and protection systems for critical applications; industrial processes, tertiary sector, healthcare and data centers.

The continuity and quality of energy supply is one of the most crucial topics to be considered in any production or service center.

An emergency power supply system (EPSS) is a backup generator that may include lighting, electrical generators, batteries, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and other appliances; to provide backup power in the event of a crisis or when regular systems fail.

Training

By complying with training programs, organizations reaffirm their commitment to safety, reliability and mission continuity.

Training is a key factor in achieving a safe and reliable facility operating policy.

LNG plant operator training covers natural gas hazards, fire protection and key emergency response factors. At the same time, it provides the confidence and skills plant personnel need to perform at their best.

Frequently Asked Questions

The petrochemical industry covers the transformation of useful raw materials derived from oil and gas. The basic process, which splits oil and natural gas into various lighter compounds, is known as cracking. Fuels such as gasoline, diesel, kerosene or LPG, as well as the production of fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides, asphalts, synthetic fibers and the manufacture of various plastics are petrochemical by-products.

Risk assessment is a systematic process by which potential hazards associated with a given facility are identified. The risks associated with those hazards are analyzed or evaluated; and appropriate ways to eliminate or control those hazards are determined. This analysis quantifies the likelihood and potential impact of hazardous events, enabling companies to effectively identify and mitigate risks. QRA helps improve operational safety and meet regulatory standards.

HAZID (Hazard Identification) and HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study) are techniques used to identify and assess risks in industrial projects. HAZID focuses on identifying potential hazards at the outset of the project, while HAZOP examines how deviations in design or operation can affect the safety and operability of a system. Both studies are critical to ensure the safety and efficiency of industrial processes.

A power generation center is a facility that produces electricity from different energy sources such as fossil fuels or natural gas, including those of renewable origin. Depending on the type of technology implemented, the main components of a generation center include: turbine, HRSG, combustion engines (GenSet), electric generators, power transformation and switching equipment, control systems and various auxiliary systems that complement the facility as a production unit.

We manage process safety through a comprehensive approach that includes risk quantification (FRA), quantitative risk analysis (QRA), HAZID/HAZOP studies, and pre-planning for emergency response (PPRE), which is the preparedness beforehand by preventing and preparing to respond effectively to any unwanted event, whether it is an isolated event or a force majeure. We make sure to identify and mitigate potential risks in all phases of the project to ensure its safety, reliability and success.
